Have you seen our Plum Rum on the bar?
Made with 8 year old Black Tor Rum, and the finest plums, this rum is maturing nicely in an oak cask, waiting for the Beer Fest 2022... when we will open it for all to try! By then it will be an amazing oak aged 10 year old plum rum!
In 2019 we were fundraising for a defibrillator for outside the pub. In conjunction with Friends of Furzeham Green, we raised enough money to put a defibrillator in an old red phone box, outside the pub for all to use when needed.
In honour of Phil, we managed to install a defibrillator in the old red telephone box, for use in an emergency by anyone in the area. We unveiled it at our Beer Festival Presentation Night on Friday 31st January, after awarding the winners of the Beer Festival:
ALES: 1st Place - Ayup Dancing Duck, 2nd Place - Vogon Poetry Extreme Ales, 3rd Place - South Hams Defibrale-ator
CIDERS: 1st Place - Hunts Wobbler, 2nd Place - Sams Traditional.
Thank you to all who came, helped us raise money and enjoyed the beers and ciders we had on tap.

As most people
know: This years Charity beer festival will be raising money
to buy a defibrillator which will be outside the pub. This is due
to our good friend Phil Moores who is sadly no longer with us
needing one at the beginning of the year. One of our regulars had
to run to the quay to retrieve the defibrillator from there. It’s
also a great help to Furzeham school and Furzeham green who have
football matches and just the general public in this
area.
We thought we would do something a little
quirky and have it in an original Red Telephone Box so phase one is
complete. A massive thank you to Paul Farr, Jeremy Johnstone, John
Jackson, Colin Manning, Steve Coley, and little legs (aka Joshua)
for helping manoeuvre it in the right place. A huge thank you to
Bayside Marine for the loan of their forklift which made everything
100 times easier.
This is what a local community is
all about working and sticking together. Here’s to phase 2 the
raising money of the defibrillator!
DON"T FORGET - you can order your T-shirts (see photos above), hoodies and polo shirts from behind the bar - order by the 26th November to ensure they'll be here by the Beer Festival!
